PROJECT OVERVIEW
When chef, entrepreneur, and community-builder Ruthann approached studio Chartreuse to help bring Gingham Market to life, the goal was to create more than a neighborhood café and market—it was to create a destination. A place where thoughtful food, local connections, and memorable design could come together under one welcoming roof.
From the very beginning, studio Chartreuse was involved in shaping the brand experience from the ground up. Our team developed the logo and visual identity system, creating a brand that feels warm, approachable, and rooted in community while remaining distinctive within the competitive food and hospitality landscape.
As the project evolved, our work extended well beyond traditional branding. We collaborated closely with Ruthann to help design the overall customer experience, including store layout recommendations, environmental graphics, signage systems, and branded touchpoints throughout the space. Every detail was considered to ensure that the market felt cohesive, welcoming, and reflective of the brand's personality.
One of the most distinctive features of the project is the custom storefront signage. Rather than relying on a traditional sign cabinet, the name Gingham Market was designed as a series of individually fabricated illuminated letters, creating a bold artistic statement and an instantly recognizable landmark within the neighborhood. The result is a sign that functions as both wayfinding and public art.
Beyond the physical environment, studio Chartreuse developed a comprehensive suite of branded materials including takeout packaging, employee apparel, promotional merchandise, social media templates, event graphics, and marketing collateral. We continue to support the business through the creation of promotional materials for monthly gatherings, community events, seasonal offerings, and ongoing marketing initiatives.
The result is a highly recognizable neighborhood brand that extends seamlessly from storefront to social media, creating a memorable experience for guests whether they are visiting in person, attending an event, or engaging with the brand online.
